“Great buildings and great art go hand in hand,” says Roy Kim, Douglas Elliman’s chief creative officer for Florida and California. This sentiment is exactly why the company’s partnership with Art Basel in Miami Beach makes so much sense.

As the country’s fourth-largest real estate firm, Douglas Elliman has an incredibly powerful reach, with more than 70 offices and a network of over 5,000 agents across the New York metro area, as well as South Florida, California, and Aspen, Colorado. The company also takes its commitment to customers seriously, offering real estate services that match its clients’ needs.

And at Art Basel this December, that commitment means allowing customers to purchase properties along with their art. “Like previous years,” says Kim, “we will be showcasing our global portfolio of new development properties on lightbox screens.” For the third year running, the real estate giant will have a VIP area in the Collectors Lounge; it will also host project-specific events throughout the week, such as exclusive dinners at Fasano Hotel & Residences at Shore Club and sponsored lectures with luminaries from the worlds of design, architecture, art, media, and fashion at Design Miami.

Although this is only Douglas Elliman’s third year as an Art Basel partner, the company is dedicated to its goal of marrying art and real estate. In the Hamptons, for example, it has recently hosted a number of high-profile art events, such as the Parrish Art Museum Midsummer Party, the Guild Hal Summer Gala, and the Southampton Arts Center’s SummerFest.

“Douglas Elliman’s sponsorship underscores the relationship between real estate, art, design, and architecture,” says Kim—a relationship that’s sure to grow even closer this year at Art Basel in Miami Beach.
